Solvocracy is a private place where a group works out what to do and keeps the reasons. A group is invite-only, and only its members can see what is in it.

A group can also choose to show a public page: its name, its purpose question, a short statement, and questions it would like help with. Nothing is public until a group-wide sponsor of that group switches it on.

Your group is invite-only, and only its members can see what is in it. Other groups on the site cannot see it, and neither can anyone we show Solvocracy to.

We don't share your group's private data with anyone. Solvocracy runs on two hosting services, Supabase for the database and Vercel for the website, which store it for us under their own privacy rules. We will point you to those rules if you want them. We open your group's content only when you ask us for help, ask for an export, or give us permission in advance, and we keep no copy outside the system.

Everything in your group is yours. A sponsor can download the group's whole record at any time. You can also ask us for a full export, for any reason, and for deletion. If a pilot ends, you get the export, and then, if you ask, the group is deleted. If Solvocracy ever stops running, you get your complete record before anything goes dark.

A public page shows what the group’s sponsor chose: the group’s name and purpose question, a statement and a website the sponsor wrote, how many members it has, and any question the sponsor opened to the public, with the answers members have proposed so far.

It never shows who wrote what. No member’s name, face or email appears on a public page. Votes, comments, costs, files and everything not opened stay inside the group.

Once a page or a question has been shown, it can be closed but not removed. A closed page shows a notice and the page as it was on the day it was closed. We keep it that way so a public record cannot be quietly edited.

When a group opens a question, it is asking anyone to help answer it. Solvocracy does not take answers from outside the group yet; the page says how to reach the group.

If a group says what it offers for a solution it uses, that is the group’s own promise. Solvocracy makes no promise, moves no money, and is not a party to any arrangement between a group and anyone who helps it.

Everything on a group’s public page was written by members of that group. Solvocracy hosts it. It does not endorse it, check it, or speak for the group.

If something on a public page is about you and should not be there, or you believe it breaks the law, tell us through the takedown form. We read every request and write back within a few days.

When we take something down, the words come out and a note is left in their place saying a moderator removed them. That applies to the live page and to any copy kept from before the page was closed. The record that something was there stays; the words do not.
